Aims

Beginning of the Trust:

  • A WhatsApp group for community doctors was created in 2022. 2

     

  • This group served as a platform for sharing and discussing medical, health, and community-based activities. 3

     

  • The group assisted in treating cases and referring patients to higher centers. 4

     

Activities undertaken by the Trust:

  • Conducted a health camp in collaboration with the Maharshi Valmiki Gazetted Officers Association and Doctors Association. 5555

     

  • Felicitated Valmiki doctors who achieved higher posts. 6

     

  • Provided financial aid and distributed books to medical students pursuing MBBS. 7

     

  • Participated in a strike at Freedom Park to demand a 7% increase (in reservation) in support of Swamyji. 8888

     

  • Organized cancer awareness and support programs for the community. 9

     

  • The Trust was registered in November 2023. 10

     

  • An article was written for the K.N. Rajanna Sir Abhinandana Grantha. 11

     

Future Plans of the Trust:

  • Organize health, educational, and welfare programs for the community on a priority basis. 12

     

  • Support and promote medical education (MBBS/MD/MS) and other paramedical courses for ST students. 13

     

  • Conduct health camps across the state, especially in areas with high ST populations, in association with the Maharshi Valmiki Gazetted Officers Association. 14

     

  • Offer free coaching to aspiring medical students for entrance exams. 15

     

  • Provide free or subsidized treatment for poor community members in hospitals. 16

     

  • Establish Rehabilitation Centers, Counseling Centers, and Help Line Centers for women, children, the elderly, and needy persons. 17

     

  • Support doctors and other paramedical staff through the association. 18

     

  • Launch a website and other social media platforms to provide information on health and community-related events, schemes, and issues. 19

     

  • Support other community activities of various Nayaka Sabhas/Associations/Mutt. 20

     

  • Promote, encourage, and facilitate research programs and trainings in public health, education, and empowerment. 21

     

  • Provide scholarships to needy ST students. 22

     

  • Establish a hostel for ST students and working women of the ST community in Bangalore. 23

     

  • Start institutions for Paramedical and Allied sciences with 50% of seats reserved for community members. 24

     

Requests/Demands from the Trust:

  • Establishment of a Tribal University in Karnataka. 25

     

  • Selection of community persons for higher posts such as Registrars, Vice-Chancellors, Directors, Medical Superintendents, and Principals to benefit and support community officers and strengthen educational support for students. 26

     

  • Filling of backlog vacancies in Medical Colleges, Hospitals, and other institutions. 27

     

  • Provision of a CA site from the Government for the Trust/Association. 28
